Watch TV Shows with the Bounce TV App

Bounce TV recently released an app that allows you to watch television shows from the network on your mobile device. You can use the app to watch, on demand, full episodes of Bounce TV series.

For those of you who may be unfamiliar with the background of Bounce TV, it’s a broadcast television network that features programming focused on African Americans. In fact, according to Bounce TV’s website, it is “the first African American broadcast network,” and its “founders include Martin Luther King III and Ambassador Andrew Young.”

Now, let’s get back to the app.

The Bounce TV app is free, and it’s available via iTunes and Google Play.

I installed the Android version of the app on my smartphone. Google Play indicated that the app requires access to the identity, calendar, location, and photos/media/files on the device.

At the time of this writing, the Android version of the Bounce TV app has a rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars (180 ratings), and Google Play indicates that there have been 10,000+ installs of the app.

Layout, Features and Functionality

I found the app to be very user friendly.

When you open the app, there is an uncluttered layout with a large intuitive image slider that you swipe horizontally to view featured shows.

As you swipe left or right, you can tap the photo of a show to reach an area where you can view a list of available episodes. Clicking a title from that list takes you to a screen with information about the show (episode number, duration, synopsis, and cast).

In addition to using the slider to find shows, the app has a main navigation tucked away in the upper right corner from which you can select the following drop-down menu items: Home, My Bounce, Series, Movies, Schedule, Search, Find Us, and Settings.

In the “My Bounce” section, the app states that the feature allows users who create a profile to “resume episodes and movies where you left off across multiple devices,” and to “track your viewing history.”

I should note that the app loads and streams quickly.

Bounce TV Series

You can watch drama, comedy, game shows, and boxing. The following Bounce TV series are currently available for viewing in the app:

  • Saints & Sinners
  • Mann & Wife
  • Family Time
  • In the Cut
  • Off the Chain
  • Premier Boxing Champions
  • The Newlywed Game
  • Catch 21
  • One Love
  • My Crazy Roommate

Saints & Sinners premiered on March 6, 2016, and it is the first drama series made by Bounce TV. Take a quick look at this Saints & Sinners clip that Bounce TV uploaded to YouTube.

It seems like it’s going to be a rather entertaining series, right?

Movies

You can also watch movies with the app. However, the movies section does not contain many movies. In fact, at the time of this writing, the app only has 4 movies available for on-demand viewing. The movies listed in the app are Twisted (2004), Firewalker (1986), Number One with a Bullet (1987), and The Original Kings of Comedy (2000).

Convenience

You may already watch Bounce TV shows on your television set at home, but now you’ll have the convenience of being able to use the app to watch on-demand shows on your device from anywhere. If you missed an episode on Bounce TV that’s also available on the app, you can view that episode later on your device.
